Any good martial art movies that

1A
Do not take place in modern times

1B
or do not rely on modern fighting weapons like guns in the movie

2A
Do not have a lot of special effects to make it look like martial artists can do things tbey normally would not be able to do

2B
Or in other words do not use special effects to make it look like martial artists have super powers

2C
Do not claim Chi is giving martial artists super powers and then use special effects to represent what Cho does

There are multiple movies in multiple different years that contain the phrase "drunken master"

Jackie Chan more of a clown than a fighter.

Bruce lee.... well, much better.

I am at a loss.

Best of the best was pretty good by 80s standards.

But I guess that was in modern time. Can't really say I have seen any great martial arts movies since then. I am not even sure that that one was great. But I was young in the 80s and doing lots of martial arts and that movie was a must see for all of us.

I still think Boxing is the superior martial art. MMA is obviously better in a 1 on 1 situation but a good boxer can quickly learn a few grips and low kicks.
