When computers started using pictures instead of words for their operating system tgat was when people who could not read or write could start to use computers
The fundamental problem is that at a certain point there are more than twenty six pictures but there are only twenty six letters in modern English
You would havevto memorize more pictures than letters and the system becomes garbage that is more complicated than just learning to read and write
But a picture is a thousand words.

The inventor of the Korean Alhpabet was a hero because he reduced reliance on Chinese pictures
@shortstories @Humpleupagus yeep. It is a bit easier to learn but it’s still harder to do so than Latin based languages. I’m slowly working on Korean but it’s more like picking up phrases here and there while I slowly learn Hangul.
