If someone were to exercise at about 700 Calories per hour than they would spend about 350 Calories per hour on carbs and 350 Calories per hour on fat. Above 700 Calories per hour the number of fat Calories per hour declines and the number of Carb Calories per hour increases.
So if someone wanted to increase their percentage of muscle mass they might want to exercise at 700 Calories per hour on an Elliptical and eat 350 Extra Carbohrdate Calories for each hour

And please do not do barbell bench press
A lot of people have died doing barbell bench press
You can do a bench press with dumb bells instead with less risk of death in my opinion
there's fear mongering on my tl again.
You can just as easily die on barbell squat.
key is to never do it alone + don't ego lift + have safety bars in place + learn how to bail
