Just went to pick my canteloupe and one was mushy and full of water and the other one was hollowed out by mice. So that was a waste of water and time

When I buy fruit or vegetables or mushrooms unless I try to eat them right away they tend to spoil if I try to save them unless they are in a special sealed container to prevent spoiling such as canned, frozen, juice bottled, dried, etc

I do not even bother with fresh fruits and vegetables and mushrooms anymore

Also I found if a vegetable does not have protein or carbohydrate it reduces how much food and thus protein and carbohydrate I can consume limiting my exercise performance

@shortstories have no idea what this has to do with growing melons but okay

@EllisDee
I thought you were buying them at a store & you wasted time & money trying to find the best ones & they were not good

I thought pick meant select not remove them from a plant

A farmer might grow a lot of melons & then the bad ones might be filtered out by middle men before the good ones are sold to the consumer

If you only had 2 melons maybe that is why they were not of good quality

Maybe you have to pick them at the right time or use different farming techniques or soil & weather

@shortstories it was definitely the weather that screwed them
