I think John MacArthur is a heretic by which I mean in this context he pretends to represent the early teachings of the Old and New testament but does not represent what they originally meant in their early historical context

Although the Bible forbids homosexual physical relations between two males it does not do so in Genesis 2

John Macarthur claims Genesis 2 says one man & one woman for life and that this forbids homosexual marriage

Genesis does not say that

& Moses married multiple women

@shortstories I think it's weird to say outright that the Bible forbids polygamy. But I can see how they got there.

It shows examples of it, but doesn't condone it outright. It shows negative consequences of it, I suppose. It does say that overseers should be the husband of one wife, but that is a specific context (an overseer / shepherd). Peter seems to have only had one wife, and none of the early church Scriptures address how to handle your "multiple wives" in relation to each other.

John Macarthur reads about a story or historical event in Genesis 2 and makes up rules from it when other books are full of actual rules

He seems to feel he can just read a story and then make up whatever rule he wants that is not stated in the story and that is why he is a heretic and he will do this not just to the Bible but to all texts he reads

He is like a judge who goes by the rulings of other judges instead of the actual text of laws even when a law is available
