How TF have people been accepted in any Engineering, CS and even Math programs when they need remedial classes in elementary and middle school math? Did they all write essays repeating the sentence "bleg lives matter"?

I read this fiction story about sending a Math Death Squad that asked people math questions and if they could not answer them correctly they were sent either to a re-education center or a gender segregated insane assylum where they could not reproduce because it was gender segregated
They were not allowed to leave the re-education center until they learned math and those who refused to practice math were executed
Those deemed incapable were permanently kept in the assylum
