While I have a lot of sympathy for Stella Creasy's point about the abuse of politicians on social media & in the real world, I think its also worth noting that the coarsening of politics (of which such abuse is an extreme manifestation) is not a one-way street.

The UK's political class have demonised (unfairly) & attacked (verbally) at various times, benefits claimants, the young, mothers & migrants, as well as peaceful protestors, teachers & train drivers.
