Why isn't nicotine a fourth kind of B3
Wikipedia article on B3
Vitamin B3, colloquially referred to as niacin, is a vitamin family that includes three forms, or vitamers: nicotinic acid (niacin), nicotinamide (niacinamide), and nicotinamide riboside.[1][2] All three forms of vitamin B3
So I tried to look up what is in smoking cessation pills on the internet and they supposedly tend not to have B3 nor nicotine
I also looked up if B3 can be used to treat smoking addiction and some search results claim the niacin flushing form of B3 can help but the upper limit of the Niacin form of B3 for adults in the United States is 35 milligrams and they suggest not to use it for Niacin Flushing without consulting a doctor And that Above a certain dose it may damage the liver
@shortstories the headliner for the pills is nicotine polacrilex.
@shortstories yeah, all valid points. Weighed against traditional cigarette smoking, it might be a lesser evil. I’ve used the smoking cessation pills before. Probably not long enough to affect dental health, but I will say it can cause heartburn.
