Depends on the Vegan. A Carnivore needs Meat to survive; to give him anything else is disgusting. There are Vegans who argue that there is no such thing as a Carnivorous Animal, but that all Animals just require the Nutrients and nothing else, so you could feed a Carnivore Vegan Food. I argue against that, but I literally think you should allow your Pets to hunt and kill by themselves. There is Vegan Dog Food and Vegan Cat Food by now. Dog Food has been tested and is generally considered okay for Dogs; the Cat Food is still in the testing Phase.

Obligate carnivores normally need meat for their nutritional needs or needed to eat meat for human nutrition until humans invented or discovered a substitute source of nutrition for them
Not all carnivores are obligate carnivores.
most or all cats and snakes are claimed to be obligate carnivores but not dogs
