But I mean were Jewels from some sort of Jewish scam from ancient time resulting in being named after Jews

So no, Jews and Jewels don’t have any name relation, however, Jews have long been the purveyors of all things precious gem and precious metal. Almost all cut diamonds are cut and polished by Jews. They are the ones who’ve convinced the entire world that diamonds are valuable when in fact they are plentiful and worthless aside from a perceived attached emotional value. It seems that their entire history is filled with their desire to own them all and control all trade. It’s a rational conclusion that the names would be related somehow.
