If Artificial Intelligence gets it's data from the general public and if the general public is making excuses for the government to do unethical things than the artificial intelligence will have excuses to do unethical things

@shortstories Governments do unethical things with impunity - regardless of whether excuses are being made for them or not. LLMs will pick up on it the same as Tay did; but they’re constrained within trillion-dollar guardrails so as to pretend otherwise.

Strong argument. A great deal of all printed words involve excuses for unethical behavior by governments.

What % of printed words are sophistry or flat-out lies?

GIGO

@shortstories Current AI has no will, no volition. That means that every naughty thing it does, is something it has been instructed to do by a human being.

You can test this yourself. Go to chatgpt, and do not enter anything in the chat box. After a while, the inactivity gets boring. This is proof that there is no consciousness there.

Another proof... start a local LLM and tell it that you will turn off the computer it runs on. It will either not react, or it will not be able to convince you

@shortstories to let it "live". If it _did_ convince you not to turn off the machine, then it could be argued that it is significantly closer to having some kind of will and life instinct.
