@Tfmonkey I know you like your shitty pixel boomer rom games, but what about games from the golden age of vidya (1990- early 2000s)?

System shock remake is out and very faithful to the original.

@ButtWorldsMan My steam library has 336 games in it, so I do pay for videogames when they're a few years old and 75% off or so.

I feel like vidya game designers kinda ran out of ideas and all “new” games are just palpably uncreative permutations and combinations of old genres. But I’d love to get proven wrong.

@NEETzsche @Tfmonkey Sure, mostly true. The only risks are generally taken by indies or crowdfunders nowadays to create interesting interactive experiences, as opposed to the graphics focused triple A trash big publishers churn out.

All the truly great games were made during the golden age (Deus Ex is my favorite) and as the industry grew in popularity it only went downhill. The popularity of phone games and lootboxes is only making the industry worse.
