Really dumb to have a smart home.
My microwave just works.
My refrigerator just works.
My coffee machine just works.
My air conditioner just works.
There's literally no reason for products like these to be connected to the internet. Ever. They're not video games. They shouldn't need updates.
There is a huge industry of data monetization. People don't read Terms of Service so you'll get company's creating "apps" and wifi connectivity so they can cash in.
At this point I'm seriously thinking of going back to dumb flip phone or Nokia 3310. Hopefully there is still some GSM carriers out there.

The "smart home" is just just a marketing ploy to have us buy devices meant to surveil and control us.
In the future if they don't like your shitposts online they'll turn off your lights, car and appliances.
