21 years ago I was working at a tech company outside of Boston and they announced over the loud speaker that everyone was to observe a moment of silence. I kept working. My cubicle neighbor started scolding me since he could hear the clicking. Those moments of silence were just to make people feel good about themselves it did not help the victims. I just wanted to get my work done and go home before the traffic got bad. These days, no more moments of silence.
I wonder if those places where the Maine shooter targeted were gun free zones. I believe Maine has constitutional carry but no one at these locations was exercising that right? I find this very strange. Well, I would guess they are going to lose at least some of their rights very soon. This is what happens when good people don't stand up for their rights by exercising them. https://www.mainepublic.org/maine/2023-10-26/maines-federal-lawmakers-horrified-by-mass-shootings
