@MrpoopyButhole @Tfmonkey - I really liked Dr. Murdoch's take on Christianity in the West (as revealed in an old AMA).

The thought was, that in the early days... Jews knew that Christianity was toxic. So they encouraged it among their oppressors (the Romans), while keeping it out of their own ranks.

No solid evidence, but an interesting thought and makes logical strategic sense.
