@Tfmonkey
This is...troubling. Robot waifus can't come soon enough.

@Zeb this will actually accelerate artificial womb technology.

@Tfmonkey @Zeb this retard mgtow talking point is something you've saying since 2017 and there is no technology capable of this, or any political incentive for it either. You need a woman's ovum for fertilization, even if incubation can bee automated.
@Zeb @Tfmonkey Might wanna read your article before citing it

They still needed a donors egg, and the only thing they did was removed the nucleus from it, and replaced it with a skin cells nucleus, essentially they still needed the cellular architecture of the egg cell itself for the experiment to be somewhat successful. Also unless its replicated across multiple couples, accounting for different variables, its a far cry from being viable for virtually anyone not involved in this study.

They didn't produce one from scratch using a piece of your skin.

@Amalek_Respector @Zeb the nucleus contains all the DNA. This means you can use an animal egg, replace the nucleus with a skin cell, and replicate a human egg. The essential point is that women are no longer required

@Tfmonkey @Zeb This has not been proven or demonstrated. An animal egg cell structure and architecture is fundamentally different from that of a human.

This process we are talking about is called Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer - its only ever been demonstrated in the same species. Here is a paper detailing why cross-species nuclear transfer is biologically infeasible in terms of producing a viable living thing:

Feel free to feed this paper into notebook LLM or any other model and it will give you the same conclusion:

"While the nucleus contains the DNA and SCNT can create a cloned embryo within the same species, current science does not support the idea that you can use an animal egg, replace its nucleus with a human skin cell, and thereby replicate a functional human egg or embryo. Cross-species nuclear transfer has not been successful in producing viable embryos due to significant biological incompatibilities."
