When we started stealing and scavenging (which is why we have a ph of 1) we didn't use the energy for stronger muscles since the ones we had were sufficient for throwing, we used it for height, and larger brains which gave us the abilities that we have as a byproduct such as speech, awareness of our existance and understanding of abstract concepts.
