there are two possibilities here.

He was killed because dead ppl dont talk and wont snitch on his accomplices there fore any investigations regarding how he became a billionaire die off

or this is a fake accident so that he can start a new life somewhere else with a good chunk of his money.

the key to find out what happened is if the msm claims to have found a body or if they claim that all the remains where destroyed in the helicopter crash/fire
