Bugging out does not work because you need to be in a group that will defend you and not by yourself unless you are bugging out to a community meeting requirements I already described more requirements than that really
You need a way to make an alliance with them so they do not reject you as a freeloader

If the community you are in has not stockpiled they will take stuff from you if you stockpile
If the community you are in has not trained & armed themselves to use defensive force & is not ideologically willing to use defensive force then another community will take stuff from them
Conclusion you must stockpile & persuade people in your community to stockpile & train & arm to use defensive force or move to a community that already does these things
