@sardonicsmile a lot of places bar this, and i know liquor stores that have signs saying "no penny" - coins don't have the "all debts, public and private" on them, so i wonder if a court could argue they are under no obligation to accept it.

You also get the same sort of "we can't accept that" when you try to pay with $100 bills. That's *slightly* more forgivable, as the drawers might not have enough to make change because of store policy or whatever.

It still irks me.

yeah they should, may want to call ahead to tell them to have it but they won't care
i may be retarded but that's no excuse to be rude
Order them in advance through the bank. Two weeks advance.

@shortstories @sardonicsmile So is demanding a jury trial for a parking ticket, and suggesting every one else in line do the same.

@brimshae @sardonicsmile

Always demand a jury trial in any fine that is over 20 dollars it is your cobstituitional right and sue them for assigning a jury trial fee to try to deny your right to a jury trial

But should you do a motion to dismiss before demanding the jury trial?

@brimshae @shortstories Well, taking it to trial will ve expensive. More than $197.00.

@sardonicsmile @shortstories Traffic tickets are a money making scheme. They're not going to make any money seating a jury.

@sardonicsmile @brimshae

They charge a fee for a jury trial that is greater than the fee for the ticket sometimes but people should start demanding jury trials anyway to make people mad about the tickets but the jury might get mad at you for making them show up and side against you

@shortstories @sardonicsmile beaten out by paying a ticket in dollars that have been folded into pig origami
