Tarriffs would make prices go up because local manufacturers do not have to compete as much with foreigners so they could get away with charging more and not researching more efficient and cheaper manufacturing methods

But it is worth the price hike to ensure local production facilities exist

If you are not going to have local taxes then you do not need tarriiffs

But if you have local taxes then Tarriffs should always be greater than or equal to local taxes
