most cities should severely tax parking lots and pour that money into more buses.
Because guess what happens to paid parking when taxes go up? the cost is passed on to price and quickly people WILL see the value of a bus pass.
In time perhaps they'll even see the pointlessness of owning a vehicle if they rarely travel and will just... not buy one. you don't need to pay for maintenance or insurance on a vehicle you don't have.
Think of how much of a financial burden that takes off low income people

I would support the abolition of taxpayer funded roads
We could replace streets with gardens
No one would drive cars
If you need to go somewhere you walk
Helicopters and flying drones could be used for shipping and medical emergencies
The cost of some helicopters is less than the cost of maintaining all streets
Perhaps their could be small sidewalks with electric and plumbing lines underneath so you know where not to dig
