@shortstories When Jesus taught us how to pray one of the lines of the Lords prayer is, Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, which is to say we have a responsibility to forgive others even if they are outright evil, that's not to say emulate them, we need to do what is right but we have to recognize that we too have sinned and forgive others, and Jesus told us to love our neighbors as ourselves and his use of neighbors was inclusive, he meant all our fellow human beings. I know that some people make that a challenge but it is precisely the challenge that Jesus calls us to, and he set an example, even when he was being put to death he prayed, forgive them Lord, for they know not what htey do. Being a Christian isn't just about buying into the symbology, it's about doing what we are called to do.
