@Tfmonkey The Jedi are hypocrites, they were established as a corrupt organization in episode 1, making decisions on behalf of the entire Galaxy from a literal ivory tower. The movies acknowledge the Jedi are forsaking their beliefs by involving themselves in politics/war, which is why they're losing their ability to use the Force and were eventually destroyed.
Yes, they can't be both peacekeepers and detached monks, I just don't understand why you're pretending the movies don't agree with you.
@Tfmonkey Finally, don't listen to freaking Red Letter Media's Plinkett reviews, he's the same hack who shed a tear of joy when he reviewed TFA and said "it was everything he hoped it would be".
The prequel haters became so viral, because the movies are a warning on how tyranny comes under the guise of safety and politicians will use fear to make you give up your rights. The prequels are as good as the originals, except they actually tell an important story that is dangerous to the government.
In all seriousness though the original trilogy told the exact same story about fighting back against corruption just fine. I wouldn't say the sequels are bad or even subpar (though the feminism soaked through like a carpet spill) but they were simply unnecessary.
