@RodrickSage Weakness blinds people. Patriotism is just the excuse, like religion or even normalcy bias. They cannot fathom the possibility of their lives and the things they believe in, to be challenged in any meaningful way.
Logic is no match for emotion. Whether you're trying to convince a religious person that their messiah isn't going to save them, an orphan that their parents aren't coming back, or a normie that the government isn't there to help them, the more you try, the worse it gets
