>Houthi rebels backed by Russia and Iran have won the decades long civil war in Yemen against US and Saudi backed forces
>They are now pointing their bombs towards their territorial waters
>Yemen borders the Red Sea and the shortest straight on Yemens borders is only 18 miles wide (with only 4 miles total of shipping lane for deep water vessels)

>Yemen has shut off ALL shipping traffic through the Red Sea as of December 16th after repeatedly bombing oil tankers and cargo ships that attempt to pass through The Bab el-Mandeb Strait
>This forces ships to take the long way around which increases shipping time by nearly a month, which raises import prices globally
>US Has responded by putting 3 destroyers and the largest aircraft carrier the Eisenhower in the Gulf of Aden which is on Yemens borders

@VooDooMedic It's not that Yemen "shut off all shipping traffic"; the major companies decided not to ship through the Red Sea due to attacks on cargo ships. Maybe I'm being pedantic here, but it's important to be accurate with who is responsible for what.
