First off i want to say that MGTOW TV is awesome. I've been looking for a Youtube raplacement since 2017. I wish i had known about this years ago. Ive spent several years using Youtube Alternatives and most of them fucking suck. Odysee sucks. Odysee doesn't have an Android App and the notifications on their web app doesn't work at all. Rumble sucks. Their app and website uses word autofilters that erase bad words. You can't say the word Faggot or Fuck without your comment being erased.
@HereticVII Only YouTube has YouTube money to build their app. The Odysee app definitely takes some getting used to. But it saves your progress and plays in background mode, like NewPipe does. It's just a bit slow sometimes and the ". . ." button on videos is way too close to other things that accidentally get pressed.
I've never used notifications, just keep my subscriptions limited, but never tested it on the app with a ton of subscriptions (or, "follows").
But they 100% have an Android app.
@RoninGrey in my opinion Odysee's Android app is basically the same thing as clicking "install app" in your web browser if you use Brave or "add to home screen" if you use Chrome. That is what they have passing for an app in the play store. It doesn't seem like a real Android app like Youtube and Newpipe and Rumble and even MGTOW TV. MGTOW TVs app on the Google play store is a real app. I could be wrong.
@HereticVII Interesting. That's what the MGTOW.TV app was like when I looked for it back in the day. If they've updated it since then I will look into it for sure. Listening to the current-week's Morning Constitutional upload on my phone is difficult to get to work right on MGTOW.TV at the moment they way I'm having to do it.
@RoninGrey the MGTOW app needs work. I think web app is good enough that i can have a good user experience. For me the MGTOW web is 2nd place to Youtubes web app. I give the MGTOW TV devs an A for effort on the Android app. I'm willing to wait and see what improvements they make. Its almost on par with Rumbles Android app which is a good thing.
@HereticVII Definitely check out NewPipe (only for Android). It plays content from different sources, including YouTube. No profile necessary. No ads, plays in background and mini mode, saves progress.
@RoninGrey I use Newpipe for offline downloads and Youtube Vanced for its ad blocking feature. There are people claiming that Youtube Vanced was shutdown. You can find versions that work on Github.
@HereticVII @RoninGrey there is also bitchute
@37712 @RoninGrey i tried Bitchute in the past. I don't like the web app interface, UI, UX. I don't like their Android app. Bitchute had a similar problem that many Youtube alternatives have. There is too much political content and not enough normal content. Last i checked their comment sections weren't active. I can't consume only Right Wing content 8 hours a day. MGTOW falls within Right Wing. Last time i Bitchute was years ago.
@RoninGrey bitslide sounds cool. I'll give it a try.
