I disagree, I don’t think male innovation and technological advancement is tied to men’s sexual desire for women, I think it’s more tied to the dominance instinct/male competition. Ie examples such as Nikola Tesla, Albert Einstein and The Wright brothers whose innovations were not primarily driven by women.

@I_AmTheKnight Technology is solutions to problems.

You use what you know and can use to break the limits of what you can't.

It is like ladder normally you could not reach certain height with your arm. But you can reache farther with ladder than you would normally would be able to.

it is a famous trope in science fiction (which does mimic real life sometimes) e.g.
time machine, the 2002 movie version, the traveler would have never built the machine if his woman lived, so he can not go back and save her, no matter how hard he tries... nice twist, and paradox too

@I_AmTheKnight

Innovation is sometimes tied to having to do things to survive and wanting it to be easier to do those things

This is different than competition

Someone alone on a island with no women to impress and no other men to compete with would still try to invent easier ways to accomplish their survival goals

@shortstories yeah that’s another interesting point, humans invent tools and technologies to make survival easier, ie spears and bows and arrows to hunt when we were still hunter gatherers. Technology makes survival easier for the majority of people hence why it’s constantly getting better.

Or just the thought that things can be better. Not everything is impulse; most of it is character.
