after some thought i would most likely buy a good mouse and use it's hw with custom shell. the programming and sourcing hw is just waste of time. although the hw might be "fixed" in ways making custom shell problematic so it would have to be trial and error to find one that would be usable for the custom shell and buttons arrangement.

@Mr_Mister well, as TFM rightfully says, until the pain of inaction does not exceed the pain of action, nothing will change. but, thankfully(for the sake of argument), people are now literally dying, so i think the middle easterners might finally find their balls. though looking at the situation, the 9/11 now looks like a clear cia operation, because these goatfuckers are incapable of anything, it seems.
