And why would people need to be distracted from any recent event? Are they rioting in the streets? Is it purge day or is everything the same as it was the day before?

Maybe it's some sort of military drill, maybe it's preparation for their 15 minute cities, maybe it's for a false flag, or it's something else entirely. It will probably end and be memory holed in the next few weeks.

I remember Occupy Wall Street also had an outsized influence. If there is a regime/cathedral... They had to have taken notice that middle management took a hit.

Did it accomplish much of anything? Not directly. But it's the sort of event that can give people ideas.
