@RoninGrey Muslims and curries will try this shit and then snap and rape after it keeps failing to work.
@RoninGrey "Oh, I'm reading 关于人的尊严的演讲, what about you haha"

@RoninGrey Doesn't like to read books? Hmmmm... doesn't sound good for story time with children...

@RoninGrey Women don't read. And when they are reading, it's porn.

Sort of on that topic, I’ve been meaning to mention to you that I like your name.
Well now you’re just making me feel dumb…
Shouldn't. It's one of the unit planets whose moons I know with 100% certainly.
@Rose @feralphilosophernc @RoninGrey @MartianM00n > I don’t know any moon names!

Well, Earth's moon is simply called the Moon. 😜 It's unique in the solar system for being the largest moon in size in comparison to its planet. Seriously, its diameter is over 1/4 that of the Earth's.

Mars has two moons: Deimos and Phobos. The larger planets have exponentially more. Jupiter has at least 95 and Saturn has at least 146. The largest moon of Saturn is Titan.
@MartianM00n @Rose @feralphilosophernc @RoninGrey > You are very smart about moons.

Heavenly bodies have always been an interest of mine. 😜
Correction. You DIDN'T know any moon names. Now you know two and their associated planet. Silver linings. 😁
@Rose @RoninGrey Cheers. I've had it for ages...

What book are you reading?
Technically I’m in the middle of three different books.

Keeping A Family Cow
The Thirteenth Tribe
Volume one of Robert E Lee’s biography
Hey I just realized that’s a fiction, information, history, and biography. The only thing I’m missing is theology. I do read the Bible though. So that counts. And now I’m rambling.
@Rose @RoninGrey I'm reading Treasure Island, Silmarillion (7th attempt, this time it'll stick), Crichton's The Lost World, and Water Margins.

(not including re-reads such as Narnia and Space Trilogy)

If you're after theology, I always recommend St. Clement of Alexandria and Rudolf Steiner.
I have finished the Silmarillion. But I’m bad about taking literally years to finish books. I read more than one at a time and get busy with life.

I think it took me four years to finish Boswell’s Life of Samuel Johnson. But it was worth the effort.
@Rose @RoninGrey I'm very inconsistent. It can take years just to finish one book, but then something like Howl's Moving Castle I get through in just a couple sittings within like, two days.
@Rose @MartianM00n @RoninGrey > I have finished the Silmarillion.

That's a really tough read. It takes forever to wade through.

But the story of Lúthien and Beren makes the entire book worth it.
It’s been probably a decade since I’ve read it, but I think I know exactly which story you mean.
I've never finished it 😭 Reading the Silmarillion makes me feel like Niggers must feel when reading Doctor Seuss... Real dumb.
@feralphilosophernc @James_Dixon @RoninGrey @Rose There's a letter by Christopher Tolkien floating around that basically says "Oops. Sorry I'm not as good as my father at making things easier to read."

The Hobbit and LOTR were really saved by their editing.
Yeah, that makes sense. I got through those no problem. The Silmarillion is like reading the begats or Numbers.
I call it Earth's real history if you replace the word elves with Elohim.
@feralphilosophernc @RoninGrey @Rose @James_Dixon Which ironically is what they were kind of going for with a sizeable amount of it.
I’ve heard the creation story of the elves is based off an old Hebrew tradition of how the angels were created.
@Rose @RoninGrey @feralphilosophernc @James_Dixon There's an entire field of scholarship dedicated to the Biblical, Extra-canonical, Anglo-Saxon, and mythological references in Tolkien's work.
Imagine creating an entire universe in your head and then trying to write it all down in an intelligible way for others to read.
@James_Dixon @Rose @MartianM00n @RoninGrey The children of hurin is almost as good.
Those two bits (and the fall of gondolin) were written as separate stand alone narratives before Chris Tolkien compiled all his dad's unfinished stuff into the greater tale of the eldest days
>Gemini
Thanks to my being an enormous Minecraft nerd, the only thing that pops in my head at the word "Gemini" is this hippy chick with a baby voice.
