I'm thinking of doing a sophomore release for Tartan and Velvet.
The first album I really had tons of fun writing in genres I don't usually get to do, and chose songs that still worked well together and made a decent album, imho.
But this time I want to pick a more focused style and give it a test. What do y'all think of this?
Is it TOO much of a departure from their debut album?
@RoninGrey Elvis did a Christmas Album,and he did a Gospel album but his mainstay was Rock n Roll but he loved singing gospel and his fans loved the Christmas album so there is no reason to experiment it is your world boss
@RoninGrey But I really don't know anymore my taste in music varies all over the place I have been watching videos of Japanese jazz punk from like 8 years ago,I have no Idea what they are saying and I am fascinated by the performance
@Scubbie This is certainly interesting. I like how experimental it is. There are ideas in here I could explore, as odd as it is and not-my-style. It's also reminded me of some ideas I had that I can try for some of Irene's songs.
I really, really like this pianist, though. He's easily the highlight for me and if I had to guess, he carries the band and did this group as an outlet for fun.
@RoninGrey Yeah Japanese Punk is definitely wild and has sub genres I think their intense work culture is why Punk is still a viable scene all the rules in that society and structure is why they like pass out drunk in the street from the pressure of over work
@Scubbie I'm going with the idea of making two solo albums for the girls. Or at least one to start, with Irene. I have the second song. I reeeeaaally like how it turned out so I'm going to write some more on my next weekday off. These seem to be when I find writing time to put together the ideas in my head.
