My rationale is simple: the fact that he's willing to brazenly steal in the daylight with people around shows there's no disincentive to behave this way. His execution would be a message to would-be thieves that there will be consequences for being an openly thieving nigger. Encourage burglars to go back to the good old days of trying to steal without being caught.
