A few great survival uses for a pencil sharpener
Both are good ideas. A ferro rod will always be handy and none of these weigh much or take up much space in a bugout bag compared to the discomfort of not having it when you need it.

There are many good things to have in survival situations.
So it will depend on you. What you want and what is easy to buy in your area/country.
@Stahesh I have a brass pencil sharpener and it works great at sharpening pencils. No hate on the video, however, I have to ask if you had the option of carrying a pencil sharpener AND a ferro rod or a butane lighter, why not make your life easier in that hypothetical survival situation and use the best tool for the job? Rubber bands are easy to light and burn long enough to start most fires and will burn when wet. Just wrap them around the lighter. Also, try to always carry a knife.
