@Mr_Mister I think it is not bad idea you can reduce your electricity cost and when you have exces you can sell it to the grid. But depend if you are off grid or not.

But depend how much you will spend to how much will you save money.

Because with panels you will need stuff around it too. Like some batteries, cables and etc.

Not mentioning with panels you can go more electric. Like heaters and stuff because it will not spend too much.
