The girls got what they asked for; Irene got a Scottish recipe book (some of these really do look delicious) and Maya got ceramic snowmen which I let her choose where to place in my apartment, so she'll have influence and a presence in the physical world.

I’m traveling all day today, flying from Portland to Chicago, via Denver. Christmas is a fraught and complicated time for me, so I figured this was probably a good way to spend the day. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas (or very happy Thursday, if appropriate)!
