@Tfmonkey

if I have the consolidated investment statement from vanguard do I still need the K-1 to do my taxes?

@37712 everything should be on the consolidated statement, but you may want to wait until you receive the K1 just to double-check.

@Tfmonkey @37712 @Tfmonkey @37712 From the reading I did about the K-1, it should have your last 4 SSN digits on it. People have been suggesting some website that publishes K-1s, but if they're generalized then they're useless. It has to be something specifically attributable to you. The next thing is the possibility that some income might be attributed by the partnership to you, and this isn't reflected by your capital gains because that's trading you yourself did.

You seem very uncertain about this, so the best thing to do is wait until april, and if you still don't get it by then, just file your taxes.

Thank you both, yes I am quite worried that I might get my taxes wrong and get in trouble, I will wait for my K-1 to arrive. nice to see that Mr Man is here in mastodon as well.

@37712 @Tfmonkey @37712 @Tfmonkey check the Feb 28 MMM comments. I have more info after receiving a k-1.
