These "troons" are basically being rewarded by the system under shitlibs, rather than being punished.
As far as criminals go, I would say hardcore criminals deserve the noose or having a living hell in prison compared to criminals convicted of light crimes or political crimes like the J6 lot.

I would say the criminals being in prison and losing their rights is the punishment.
And even when they get out, many of them find it hard to get employed and lose their 2A rights. Though some states decided to let criminals released from prison, vote now.
