@shortstories - I don't think I've ever liked Confucius. That sounds a lot like "no snitching".
And it's true that nobody likes a snitch... But some people would take advantage of whatever's available. The amount of people who are hurt, and the depth of pain felt... for the sake of "no snitching", is staggering. 🤔
So what could be a compromise? 🤔 All I got is chop the perpetrators head off, without snitching on them. 💁🏻♂️
When an authority figure does a bad job the only non violent solution is to voice criticism
This does not necessarily mean you are saying they are a bad leader because it can be suggestions for improvement or constructive criticism
But constructive criticism is considered insulting
This results in no way to improve things
In the West in science someone proposes an idea
The idea is tested and then people can say if it is right or wrong and that was how science advanced
You can not know that much as I said from that passage alone but I will just say that if you study South Korean Language and culture and talk to enough South Korean people about the right things then you will see that I am correct if you really think about it in a certain way
@YoMomz
So basically when a authority figure does a bad job they will not improve in a confucian society because it is like the story about the emperor with no clothes
This is why Europe had better science and defeated China, Korea and Japan invading and forcing them to trade with superior firearms
Because the leader is to be believed and not publicly disagreed with this leads to cult like dynamics
This is why feminism is worse in South Korea
Why North Korea & China are cult like
