Russia is already working hard on clearing a path through the artic, the Northern Sea Route with the nuclear powered icebreakers.
It doesn't go through Greenland at all.
It's nothing but a navy base so the US can be pirates and board Russian ships. Very similar to how the British used Port Royal in the Caribbean.

Exactly. Nothing is going to change for Greenlanders in their daily lives.

They will benefit actually, money in their pocket, they will be able to apply for US citizenship and move to the continental US if they want.
