>Slavery is tolerable to you

You misunderstood me.

To clarify: Slavery is NOT TOLERABLE to me at all and if I had the power I'd stop it immediately.

This post is about me wrestling with the realization that buying cheap Chinese products is tacit complicity in slavery.

Hope that clears things up.

Disagree

We could make electronic devices in the United States that are cheaper and superior by removing planned obscelence and software piracy laws and removing intellectual property laws and by removing software bloat from forced auto updates

We could also make it cheaper by removing English & Social Science classes and fake science classes from the school curriculum and teaching computer science & electrical engineering & electrician material in middle school

Unless you automate, which will require massive R&D costs that the consumer will need to end up paying anyway, although for the several first years only. This however, may require strong IP protection so that the investor can get a return, otherwise there will be no R&D investment.
