I am from the Missouri Ozarks & can’t think of a group of people more able to defend themselves.

@freepatriot In the 1950's and 60's the civil defense officials surveyed the Ozarks' rich karst geology, noting that thick layers of rock and earth provided strong shielding against radioactive fallout. Some were fitted with yellow fallout shelter signs and emergency supplies like barrels of water, crackers, and medical kits also some were privately transformed by individuals

On one hand, I was shocked to learn Missouri has one of the highest gun ownership rates in the country.

On the other, the Ken McElroy shit happened in Missouri. Northern Missouri I think but it is still a massive L that it took them as long as it did to just put a bullet in that piece of shit.
In my experience, Midwestern folk tend to be very long-suffering and very understated.
Missouri is one of those border states that is part south and part midwest along with Oklahoma and Kentucky.

I'd say Kentucky is more south, Missouri is more midwest and Oklahoma is half and half.
Yes, and Missouri's geographic and cultural border status is also why it had its own civil war during the American Civil War.
Unfortunately, the Ozarks are currently being flooded by coasties and carpetbaggers.
