It is based on the assumptions of an ever growing population, of cultural and ethnic homogeneity and shared values.

@ChrisMayLA6 It is very worrying that the western world completely ignores young men. They can be just as ill treated, often worse, as women online.

But as always in the west, the hate is strong against young white men. Often are they told since birth, they have no value, and that only women have a right to work. Not strange at all, that most of the shootings are done by men who lost all hope.

@ChrisMayLA6 I can add to that the observation, that even in the nationalist corners of the fediverse, sentiment is slowly changing against Trump. Based on this unscientific analysis, I think it is pretty certain he will lose the election this autumn.

@freedomofpress they self-censor and refuse to investigate a lot of questions so as not to anger the politicians.

@freedomofpress I get the feeling that this does not take into account self-censoring of the press. In sweden, the mainstream basically are in bed with the politicians, since they get a lot of money through government support. That means that questions and ideologies outside of mainstream, western european socialism gets little to no treatment by the press.

@Incal Doubt it. The royal house of britain still seems to be in tip top shape, so the Rotschilds will produce a sacrifical lamb if needed, and all will be well.

My prediction is that the EU will abolish the veto of members, another guess is that they will change how votes are counted to penalize nationalist parties. A third change is a split, whereby a "deeper" EU is created, and funds and "benefits" to the outer EU will gradually be restricted in the hope that they will join the inner EU where they give away their national sovereignty.

Let's see if 10 years time if I am correct!

@ThatCrazyDude As long as individual countries have veto power in important questions, nothing will happen, since the EU cannot enforce anything. The countries will just refuse, and block important questions, and that is that. Just look at Hungary, they happily spied on behalf of russia, and the worst that happen is that they did not get some EU funds.

@Incal Without watching, my guess would be that the EU will make changes in order to secure a socialist majority in the parliament, and to minimize the influence of nationalist and libertarian parties fighting the EU.

As a technologist, I would never dream of investing in technology. It seems like the rock solid technology I like, always loses out to marketing driven technology companies.

Only open source seems to have some staying power.
