@matthew @leanderlindahl Thank you for sharing, very interesting!

So how do you think about the next election? Are you disappointed enough in Trump to consider voting for the opposition, or are you hoping that the republicans will come up with a better candidate next time?

@matthew @leanderlindahl This is interesting. As an american, why do you think that you should switch away from silicon valley?

In europe, people are scared of Trump, but that is just politics.

Personally, I'm always in favour of decentralization. Both when it comes to technology, and of power.

What is your opinion on this?

Delta Chat is pretty awesome. Worth trying, if you haven't already.

@jeffcliff @gorskon That's brilliant! Do you have any notes from that course? I'm giving a course in resistance to disinformation, and I think your way of logic would fit right in in that course!

@Sine_Nomine @Geri And victory to israel and team yahve! 🇮🇱

@ymukudo I'd be more interested in seeing how artists depict the break up of russia and the eradication of russia culture. It is important that russia is de-nazified, and the people re-educated. This would be art that I'd be interested in watching! =)

@jeffcliff @gorskon

"but he *does* seem to fall into the 'forever unverifiable' (though he made his best effort at verifying)"

Yes, this is my opinion as well. Where I find Schopenhauer at his best, is his short essays. Some of his observations in those, about man, are spot on.

Briljant boktitel, staten ska ge fan i mina pengar!

@jeffcliff @gorskon Well, that's the problem. If one argues that Schopenhauer says that it is energy/matter/material, then it just becomes a truism, and hardly profound. And not particularly unique, since the greeks had their materialists as well.

If you take (like some do...) the mystical path, it just ends up being nonsense at worst, and forever unverifiable at best.

@jeffcliff @gorskon What I don't like with Schopenhauer or with Kant, is that they postulate some kind of thing or energy that is beyond the material. For me, this has always been a non-starter. However... I always wondered how much of Schopenhauer is realy re-hashed eastern mysticism. I think he claimed to have come up with the exact same position independently, but I am very skeptical.

@ymukudo Please nato, attack russia, so that we can be done with this war. Then anything east of the Urals can become derka-derka-stans or go to china, while urals + west can go to europe.

Once the russians have been domesticated, they may be allowed to run their own country again, although without any weapons.

@ForBritain Hmm, wasn't Turing a homo? By their own logic, he should be exalted and praised in order to spread that sexual deviation to the masses.

@ForBritain This is the truth!

What is sad though, is that in a sane world, the public would already have risen up, thrown out the politicians and hung them from lamp posts.

Sadly, what we see is.... nothing. The media says nothing, the public says nothing, and the few that do, are protrayed as crazy childporn men.

The only small comfort in all of this, is that the EU will collapse. Sadly it can take decades if not close to a century, before that happens.

the bit Starmer isnt telling you is... this sort of device technology is called Client-Side Scanning.

It is already built into the Ofcom regulated Online Safety Act through “accredited technology” notices. The EU has been pushing similar rules through its Child Sexual Abuse Regulation, known as “Chat Control”.

It basically means phone companies and platforms can be pushed to scan messages, images and content BEFORE you send them, then either allowing them to be sent or blocking/reporting them.

Once the precedent is set, "to protect children", it can easily be widened to block whatever government decides is “harmful”.

And that's how you go from child safety to state approved speech.

New from me: France is done with US big tech companies—arguably its moving away from American tech faster than other countries in Europe

The French government has built its own replacement for Google Docs/Microsoft Office. Cities, including Lyon, are moving to Linux and other tech. Open source is at the center of their efforts.
