I got all the way up to pkgsrc-wip setup with the NetBSD install and that's where my notes ended so that's where I paused for the night. I'll do that today and take notes.
one thing I found out: you can't have the 'log' and the 'discard' options both enabled on a FFS filesystem, which is unfortunate from a write amplification standpoint. good thing I got an industrial SD card, now I wish it was twice the size though to give that issue a bit more of a buffer.

@sam @Disputatore @kibcol1049 True, but this risk is not unknown, and if this risk is not acceptable to an illegal immigrant, they will illegally immigrate to other countries where the risk is lower.
As per my earlier post, this new policy will be spread to embassies through out the world, social media, and other channels.
Then no one can claim ignorance. After all, it is your responsibility to follow the law in the countries you travel to.
