Often in the weekend papers somewhere there is a story that in one way or another involves the self-hatred of the habitual smartphone social media scroller (doom-scrolling)... and a (frustrated) desire to do something to alleviate the hold this has on their everyday life.
As an owner of a dumb-phone (it manages calls & texts, but no internet access), there is, let me tell you an 'answer':

Warning, it has a minimum of dialogue, and no background music, yet manages to tell a beautiful story. If you like minimalism and existentialist themes, give it a try.
If you like something fast paced, or something very close to hollywood story telling, stay far away.

Fuck! I gotta ditch my bank account and go cash-only now, because my bank won't let me to log into online banking anymore using a secure browser or VPN and without being nagged by a constant onslaught of security theatre like SMS based 2FA. Even when the hoop jumping seems to work initially then ultimately reject my login. So ... fuck them!

Hell, if I try hard enough I might even ditch the cash too and only do transactions with private individuals who accept precious metals. 99% of my spending is for groceries, which I can honestly just grow myself or barter with neighbouring farms. I'm a bit curious about GoToSocial, in particular because I want to host a few Fediverse/ActivityPub instances myself, and GTS seems to be a bit less resource hungry and supports "backports" of past data.
Does anyone have experience with the GTS platform vs Mastodon? I'm not interested in a "flame war", just objective comparisons.
