D*mn it! Election time and of course the dirt starts to pop up. A swedish member of parliament has been caught with child pornography.

The party has not been announced, but the politician is from uppsala, and only 13 M.P.s are from uppsala, out of those, women can most likely be discarded.

Out of the remaining ones, a semi-conservative stopped tweeting the day of the raid of the politicians home, so my bet is "Moderaterna".

Another article said police, prosecutors and judges were also in

I used to love working in IT. I haven't been enjoying it for a while now. We did more and better BEFORE all the bullshit.

">companies and investors pour trillions into AI
>build data centers nobody asked for or wanted
>mass layoffs so you can replace senior devs with AI
>turns out AI/maintenance costs are astronomical
>is actually cheaper to just hire junior developers
>re-invent entry level jobs

This is how mass adoption of AI is going."

One wonders if Snowden regrets throwing away his life to warn ungrateful Americans about unconstitutional NSA wire-tapping.

Ahh... the first tick of the season. I would not be sad if little f*ckers would just die.

Last evening, I spent quite a bit of time reading in "gemini space" using the La Grange application.

I am pleasantly surprised by how much there is to read there. People are still posting regularly, though the peak publishing seems to be around 2022 - 2024 (just my observation, not measured).

I do want to emphasis that I was *reading* and not just browsing. There's a very different feel to reading text over the Gemini protocol compared to browsing on the web, Fediverse included.

There's a lot less time spent scrolling and it feels more like *exploring*.

I like it, but is that just my tendency to move toward things that are lesser known and lesser used? "The path less traveled" does not always give the results that we are looking for.

I found reading on Gemini to be enjoyable. I'm not tied to that protocol as the solution to the current problems of the internet, as the older Gopher protocol is worth exploring, too. And maybe something a bit different will emerge, but if you are unfamiliar with Gemini... it is worth checking out.

This is what having no systemd in your system is like, when the system is idle — it's 99% idle.

Yep, I don't have a "modern browser" running, but the machine isn't a 56-core monster either, it's a Pentium-M machine from 20 years ago! But I can still have XMPP and Matrix chats using profanity and gomuks, browse Fedi, Gemini using Lagrange or amfora, read RSS feeds in newsraft, listen to music and watch HD videos with mpv and even browse some web using Netsurf or chawan — and I still have plenty of RAM left, like back in the day when this ThinkPad T43 was brand new. Except it's 2026 and OpenBSD 7.9 is still supported on this machine!

https://pluriel.fuce.eu/antimuslim-racism-as-gender-politics-an-article-by-noemi-trucco-and-ahmed-ajil/?lang=en

YOU HAVE TO SAVOR THIS SENTENCE: "The authors’ central argument is intersectional: hostilities towards Muslims do not unfold independently of gender relations, they are tightly bound up with them. "

Intersectional Marxism 🤦‍♂️

And they see "anti-Muslim hostility" 🙄

Right. It's not Muslim hostility hatred, violence & terrorism against non-Muslims, it's all those non-Muslims who don't want to be invaded by Muslims who are the bad guys.

"These representations often serve to reframe internal gender issues within the majority society, displacing their burden onto the Other."

Right. Sure.

We KNOW one thing: she sleeps with Muslims.

The guy she wrote with with is a Muslim who is the go-to guy for issues with Islamic terrorism for Swiss authorities.

I'm not kidding. That's how I found him. They quoted him following yesterday's terrorist attack in Bern, where a Muslim attacked 3 people with a knife.
