Take anatomy for an example

They make maps of the body and assign names to those regions of the map. Anatomists often debate then decide by consensus where the borders for naming things should be. For examp!e a blood vessel can change names by consensus without merging or branching with another blood vessel simply by crossing a border

If you want to know how muscles move something then that is biomechanics which is physics or biochemistry which is chemistry

@amerika I like what you're saying in this post, but I feel like the word "individualist" carries two almost opposite definitions. In my view you can be an individualist in that you as an individual are the most important unit in the world and therefore the world has a duty to cater to you as an individual (what you seem to be describing here), or individualism as in considering yourself to be the one who is ultimately responsible for your own actions, behavior and outcomes and the world doesn't owe you or anyone else shit. The latter is an antidote to the former, and it's important to recognize the former as a vice even if the latter can be a virtue. You could almost call the former egoism (which you sort of do in the article

Social Science is just propaganda for the Democrat Party and not actual science or education or maybe social scientists created the Democrat Party platform

Vite typo

Do social science professors vote Democrat more often than Physical Science Professors

Social science professors register as Democrats at much higher rates than physical science professors, with studies reporting ratios as high as 40-to-1 in some disciplines.

I remember it! I ran a BBS and someone uploaded the boot+root floppies to my BBS. I tried them out on my ol' Packard Bell 80286 PC at the time. I thought it was interesting but pretty useless to me at the time and didn't really like it. I began to love it as it developed along!

@phnt @i @lain we have our own network, it's even smaller than mastodon. that prick just wants to build out mastodon, people give him more money so he can pay the hosting costs of dumping even more people just into mastodon.social I guess.

Romans were willing to tolerate any government abuse as long as there were bread and circuses.

Sound familiar?

ngl - I didn't ever expect one of my videos hosted on Peertube to generate >1000 views.

Goes to show that if only discovery* is taken care of people have no problems using an alternative video platform.

THE RULE OF LAW, GERMAN-STYLE: FREEDOM FOR THE EX-CONSTITUTIONAL COURT JUDGE!

You’ve just got to love our model state! A former constitutional court judge and SPD official allegedly hoards a cool 1.7 million files depicting abuse across 40 hard drives, yet the judicial system remains totally unbothered (https://x.com/aldoushuxiey/status/2083646788947321224?s=46). Grounds for detention? None to be found! Naturally, the gentleman remains at liberty. Who needs pre-trial detention for a data haul like that when you’ve got the right old party memberships and connections?

While the average citizen feels the full force of the law for an illegally parked car or unpaid broadcasting fees, a "premium" motto seems to apply here: judges protect judges. It is a slap in the face for every victim—but hey, at least the façade of moral superiority remains intact. The rule of law is working—at least for the elite!
