I say unboxing.

Unboxing is like the birth of a baby. "Fresh" from the womb.

The AI is like a baby growing into a kid and gaining "consciousness" (personality, memories, quirks, etc.).

Is a normie and a NPC the same thing?

I see them as different things. A normie is gullible, naive, smarter than a NPC but by a bit. A NPC, however, literally can't think; legit can't think. At least with a normie you can have a tiny bit of rationale, just a tiny bit.
