They are all mocking him behind his back and the father, as well. They are LAUGHING at the fact he is feeling like he has failed his son. The kid has basically succumbed to the brainwashing and neither he nor the father understand the 2nd and 3rd order of brainwashing that is going on...

We evolved form Neanderthal to modern humans. i.e. from short to tall. THIS is why females Reject EVERYTHING which seems like a step backwards in evolution. Cant say I'm mad, either.
